Calypso Wintent (Window Awning) is a compact shading system designed for the windows of modern residences, the façades of detached villas, and luxury storefronts, both to block the sun and add value to the building.

The key feature that sets the system apart from conventional awnings is its stepless rotation up to 180 degrees special cast-aluminum spring-loaded arms. These arms adapt precisely to the changing angle of the sun throughout the day, allowing millimeter-level control over the amount of light and heat entering the interior.

The high-strength steel spring mechanism integrated into the arms keeps the fabric taut at every angle, completely preventing flapping and wear in strong winds such as northeasterly and southwesterly winds.

Project Requirement: The south-facing windows of a modern boutique hotel on Istanbul’s coastline were increasing air-conditioning consumption and reducing guest comfort due to excessive summer heat and glare. Conventional awnings, meanwhile, were being buffeted by the Bosphorus’s strong winds.

Real Solution: Our technical team integrated a wind-resistant Calypso Wintent system into the windows without disrupting the building’s aesthetic lines. Thanks to the cast arms operating through a 180-degree angle, the balance of daylight and heat in the rooms was precisely maintained.

Result: The rooms were insulated from solar heat by 35%, while air-conditioning consumption was significantly reduced. The building also gained a distinctive Italian boutique architectural character.
